The Price Is Right Chicago Theatre reviews
Disappointed
I was very disappointed, despite being in the minority of concert-goers. The Price Is Right were a GREAT band and I love their music, but I mainly wanted to hear their hits at this concert. Apparently, this is NOT what the aged The Price Is Right wanted to do. Songs that I was not familiar with nor did I particularly like them for the first 2/3 of the concert they played. In the last 1/3 of the concert, they did play most of their best hits. I expected them to play mostly what I wanted to hear for what you have to pay for a ticket. NOT! Their music was so loud I could not enjoy any of the songs, I didn't take a sound level meter with me, but. I had to plug my ears just to stay in the concert hall. Now this next comment is going to make me sound very old to some of you, but I believe I am being objective. They ruined his and the other vocals in their loudness and poor mixing, Michael McDonald has a wonderful pure voice and I looked forward to hearing him. Ruining the voices, the sound was like it was splattering. Just regular loud would have been fine and let their musical prowess show. They owe me my money back, I feel like. If you ask me Doobies, fire your mixing people and turn it down so people can enjoy the wonderful nuances of your classic sounds. This concert reminded me of seeing Ted Nugent back in the 70's and not being able to hear for a month after that.
